Little Linden has a new baby sister. Evelyn Mae Fox Mixon was born August 22 2008. Our apologies for neglecting our blogging but I'm sure everyone understands. We have started a new blog for our new family because clearly "Little Linden" doesn't reflect all we got going on anymore. We've been dancing to the "Mae-Bea song" (Loudon Wainright's "Daughter") almost nightly lately. Its Linden's new favorite song. Here Daddy and Linden dance around Mama and by default I suppose, Mae-Bea.

Jack and Linden kept Oliver company at Jack's grandparents house today while he waited for his new baby to arrive - which he did very gracefully and in short order. Amazing! Welcome baby Kiernan!!!!

trip to Grandma Eve's

So Linden got pretty darn sick after the arboretum on Thursday night. But we decided to head to Grandma Eve's on Friday for our farwell visit with Cousin Milo and Elijah before they move to Istanbul in a few weeks. ANd now that we are just weekd away from the arrival of Mae Bee Baby we have to stay in close proximity to the Birth Center. It was still a nice visit despite the puking flu and fever.

New set of wheels - minus the wheels

First of all big shout out to the Kelty company for standing behind their product and replacing our broken backpack - and promptly too. This is the box the new backpack came in. Made a nice car which Linden has been enjoying taking Kitty and baby for rides in - and a few long trips to see Mama Su and Grandma Eve and at least one road trip with Oliver to visit Jack who is in Atlanta.

So brushing goats at the children's zoo in the the Philly zoo is way fun. Its apparently all about choosing the right brush and goat. You have to try out every one.

So we went to meet Daddy on his way back from the train tonight and he looked every bit the architect: giant portfolio of presentation boards and hard hat in hand. I guess that makes it official.

Bye Bye Liji and Milo

Playing in "Elijah's car" on Sunday morning before going our separate ways. Half way through Linden's nap in the car on the way back from Grandma Eve's he woke up a little anxious and said "Elijah? Elijah?" looking around the car and then went immediately back to sleep. We will miss having our cousins around for sure.

We spent the weekend at Linden's Great Grandma Eve's house for a birthday celebration for Grandpa Howard (91) - Linden's great grandfather. The boys continued their fun filled cousin time there.

Even with the heat we managed a picnic while watching the Philly bike race zoom by.

Ghastly Hot

So the only way to survive this terrible heat - like 110 with the heat index - is to jump in the pool. We spent the crazy hot afternoon at Justin and Jessica's lounging in their new pool. A gaggle of boy cousins playing and splashing.

Cousin time

So Cousins Elijah and Milo and Aunt Lisa are staying with us for almost 2 weeks! Our apartment is a bit crazy but the guys are loving it.
